DESCRIPTION:SWING SET is an intentionally small vocal jazz ensemble singing 4 and 8-part harmonies by the likes of The Real Group\, Manhattan Transfer\, Les Six\, etc. With a fresh\, vibrant sound\, we sing jazz and other styles\, incorporating exciting rhythms\, complex harmonies\, and vocal improvisations in ‘a capella’ and accompanied arrangements. While this group of skilled singers focuses on standards from the Swing  Era\, we occasionally venture into other vocal realms that interest us. \n\n\n  Formed in 2017\, the group features 2 to 3 voices on a part creating a musical and social intimacy not possible in larger choral groups. They started playing the violin when they were living in Europe and have continued their musical journey in the US. Their favorite musicians are Ray Chen and Hilary Hahn\, In their spare time they love all types of team and individual sports but have been focusing primarily on skiing in the winter and rowing in the summer.

Tunes like “Do Nothin Till You Hear From Me\,” “Caravan\,” and “Take the A-Train.” And no place was more swingin than the Hey Hey Club in Kansas City. America also loved music from the American Songbook: Paul McCartney’s favorite composer\, Cole Porter’s “I’ve Got You Under My Skin\,” or Harold Arlen’s “If I Only Had a Brain\, “ from the Wiz of Oz. \n\nAptly named\,  the 7 piece Hey Hey Club swings that music for your pleasure.
