Qigong is an ancient Chinese health care system integrating slow movements, breathing techniques, and focused intention. Qigong calms your mind, improves your balance, and enhances health. Learn to slow down, relax, and experience mindfulness in this free four-week workshop. We’ll explore the principles of mindfulness and teach meditation strategies including breath work, mindful movement, and mindful writing.Led by community members and mindfulness practitioners Jennie Donohue, Erika Higgins Ross, and Sara Coblyn. Limited to eight people, 18 years and older. Please wear comfortable clothing and feel free to bring a yoga mat, blanket, and pillow or cushion to sit on..

Magical and simple cyanotypes are a camera-less technique that results in graphic blue and white prints. Developed in 1852, this alternative photographic process uses a light-sensitive solution on paper, sunlight, and pressed plants to make beautiful botanical images. Participants will make one cyanotype print to take home. Funded by the Friends of Tilton Library.

Certified Casting Instructor Jim Dowd will take you through the mechanics and physics of fly casting. We cover the basic pick up and lay down cast, false casting, and the roll cast.

Want to learn basic sewing skills but don’t know where to start? Join us for an evening full of snacks and supportive, trained staff from Swanson’s Fabrics! We will be making bags out of fabric that you can fill with anything your heart desires! Supplies & pizza dinner included. All experience levels welcome, open to students 6th through 12th grade.
