THIS SERIES CELEBRATES POETRY MONTH IN APRIL:
6 WORKSHOPS AND 2 POETRY READINGS. Sign Up for one or all! Space is limited to 5 students. Participants are welcome to submit a piece of their work for an anthology.
In this workshop, taught by Louise Mahoney, participants will be given handmade books where they can record their work.
Poetry creates a visual picture with words. We will do a few exercises to get the words flowing. Participants will explore a few different types of poetry: Haiku, Limerick, Cinquain and a sonnet are a few. Each class will be approximately one hour. Participants are invited to read a poem they have selected at one of the public readings.
Ages 9-adult.
OTHER WORKSHOPS AND EVENTS IN THIS SERIES (SEE OUR EVENTS SECTION):
Julie Cavacco will lead two workshops and focus on learning a new form called Duplex developed by Jericho Brown.
There will also be two poetry readings for the workshop participants and the general public – no need to sign up.
