‘Tis the Season for GIVING…a library book!

“It’s the thought that counts.” How about if you "Give” a library book or more - as in a DVD or magazine - as a thoughtful “gift” this holiday season? Julie will even wrap it for you downstairs! If she is not in on the day you want it wrapped, or another librarian doesn’t have the time, just fill out the to-and-from card and leave it at the desk with the librarian. We will make sure the due date slip will be in the book because-PLEASE NOTE: the items need to be checked out on your card. You will get reminder notices when the items are due.

British Tea Time Join us for a proper British cream tea, complete with tea sandwiches and scones. We’ll have a bit of a chat on the history of the British tea and practice British dialect. Enjoy our posh display of British literature and films. A jolly good time!

Silent Hike up Mount Sugarloaf

LIBRARIES IN THE WOODS SERIES PRESENTS In collaboration with the Sunderland Public Library: Join us for a silent hike up beautiful Mount Sugarloaf, in celebration of our Community Read of “Stranger in the Woods.”We will split into two groups, one hiking the main trail and the other walking up the road. At the top of the mountain we will share our experiences hiking in silence, as well as light refreshments.   LIBRARIES IN THE WOODS is a community-read program of 10 local libraries, featuring discussion and related programs on the book, “Stranger in the Woods: The extraordinary story of the last true hermit” by Michael Finkel. SUMMER LIBRARY PROGRAM: A Universe of Stories! FOR THE KIDS: The cow jumped over the moon! This summer as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing, the children's library will have a variety of activities, games, lego programs, music, playtime, board game nights, and of course READING! Sign up and play along and be sure to get your moon pies and other rewards for participating! Also look out for space-related activities at the Monday Night Music concerts and bookmarks with links to really interesting space-related websites.
