Do you want to practice your English? Come to a free conversation group on Monday evenings at Tilton Library. Facilitated by Michael Pollitt and organized by Center for New Americans. Free and open to all. No sign up necessary.

Monday Night Music – Robie Bones

Robie Bones has a diverse instrumental repertoire that often places the emphasis on fast, driving rhythms created to accompany the melodies. Robie often plays the harmonica, bones and bodhran all at the same time. His other instruments include banjo, Tabor pipe & drum, and tin whistle. Expect a rhythm jam set with audience participation. Performances by local musicians are held on the lawn of Tilton Library (or inside the Children’s Room in case of bad weather.) Bring a chair and a friend. Monday Night Music is sponsored by the Friends of Tilton Library and is free and open to the public.

Hidden Heroes Book Talk — Rowan Hood by Nancy Springer

In her quest to connect with Robin Hood, the father she has never met, thirteen-year-old Rosemary disguises herself as a boy, befriends a half-wolf, half-dog, a runaway princess, and an overgrown boy whose singing is hypnotic, and makes peace with her elfin heritage. This book talk will be presented by Reba-Jean Shaw-Pichette. Sponsored by the Friends of Tilton Library it is free and open to all ages. Sign up is needed for free pizza.

And the Neighbors is the acoustic duo of Dave Houghton and Debra DeMuth from Conway, Mass. They acquire their sound from the roots of Appalachia with a flair of the Lower East Side. Art at Tilton – Kerry Stone “Harmony”

Kerry Stone's colorful paintings are still lifes and paintings from the garden and nature. On display through mid-September this exhibit is worth a trip to the library.

Friends of Tilton Library Meeting

Friends of Tilton Library, Inc. is a separate 501(c)3 membership organization and is open to anyone who wants to join. The Friends mission is to encourage and promote the enrichment and use of the library and to foster support for the library in the community. For people who want to show their support and appreciation of Tilton Library, being a Friend is the first step. Annual dues continue to be $15 per year and if necessary, you can contribute your time in lieu of dues. Come check us out at our monthly meetings at the library.

Eavesdrop is an acoustic trio of female vocalists from Western Mass. Their music covers a wide range of folk and soul with a unique twist of harmonic interpretation. They offer a nostalgic experience garnished with a fresh and delicate approach.
