Tilton Library Board of Trustees Meeting

The Board of Trustees are an elected town body which is entrusted with overseeing, maintaining and planning the future for the most democratic of all our public institutions, the public library. Library Board members are responsible for working with other board members to oversee the library, establishing policy and plans, determining the final budget and conducting public relations. The powers and duties of trustees are covered in Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 78, section 10-13. Meeting agenda is posted at Deerfield Town Hall at least 48 hours in advance of the meeting

Mystery Book Discussion – A Beautiful Place to Die by Malla Nunn

Join us on the first Monday of the month for a lively discussion of this month’s title and other of life’s mysteries. Copies of the book are usually available at the circulation desk or can be reserved online or by asking at the desk. This discussion also features cheese pizza while it lasts. Free and open to all.

Henna Art – Connecting Reading, Culture & Art

Henna artist Sara Root Simone will paint a design for you in four sessions in this open house style event for kids, teens and adults.  We'll talk about "Henna House" by Nomi Eve (adults); "Secrets of a Henna Girl" by Sufiya Ahmed (teens); and "Hanna the Henna Helper" by Klaire Pearson (kids).  Sign up at either circulation desk for this free event sponsored by the Friends of Tilton Library.

Cook the Books!

Now forming - new quarterly program featuring a different cookbook.  Here's how it works: 1. Sign up at either circulation desk 2. Borrow the featured book - Mark Bittman's "How to Cook Everything Fast",  and choose a recipe to make for serving on November 16th at the library 3.  Bring your creation, a serving utensil (if needed) a plate, fork and knife (for your use)   We'll share the food and critique the recipe.

Coloring for Adults

Come to the library on the last Tuesday of every month and color artistic patterns of all types. This soothing activity has been compared to meditation.  Try it!  All materials supplied.  No sign up necessary.
