STEM Workshops for Kids
This session, in conjunction with our Deerfield Reads program will focus on re-use and recycle. We'll have stations to visit and a few ongoing projects. Everything will be made of something that already had a use. Some questions we hope to answer: How can you make a piece of paper big enough to walk through? How can you use empty chip bags for other uses? Activities at the sessions will help us answer these questions. This enrichment activity is funded by Frontier Regional Coordinated Family and Community Engagement Program which is funded by the MA Department of Early Education and Care and by Tilton Library.

Worm Bin Workshop – Live!
Join us to welcome Amy Donovan, Program Coordinator, Franklin County Solid Waste District and a clump of live worms who will set up shop in a corner of the children's room and eat our food scraps and old newspapers. Amy will explain how the bin works and how to set one up at home. 2016 Deerfield Reads Community Discussion Event Free and open to all ages. This project made possible with funds provided by: a grant from the Deerfield Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency; Friends of Tilton Library; Greenfield Cooperative Bank and Greenfield Savings Bank.
