Tilton Library Board of Trustees Meeting

The Board of Trustees are an elected town body which is entrusted with overseeing, maintaining and planning the future for the most democratic of all our public institutions, the public library. Library Board members are responsible for working with other board members to oversee the library, establishing policy and plans, determining the final budget and conducting public relations. The powers and duties of trustees are covered in Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 78, section 10-13. Meeting agenda is posted at Deerfield Town Hall at least 48 hours in advance of the meeting

Mystery Book Discussion – Wicked Autumn by G.M. Malliet

His tranquility as the established vicar of a New Age village shattered by the murder of an unpopular woman, former MI5 agent Max Tudor struggles with past demons while trying to identify a killer in his peaceful community. Join us on the first Monday of the month for a lively discussion of this month’s title and other of life’s mysteries. Copies of the book are usually available at the circulation desk or can be reserved online or by asking at the desk. This discussion also features cheese pizza while it lasts. Free and open to all.

Field Trip – Leverett and Amherst Recycling Sheds

English Conversation Group

Do you want to practice your English? Come to a conversation group at Tilton Library on Mondays at 6:30. Facilitated by Michael Pollitt and organized by the Center for New Americans this drop-in program is free and open to all.

Friends of Tilton Meeting

Join us at the library for to discuss several fundraising initiatives that are core to the Friends' ability to support the library.  Agenda items include: last minute wine tasting details, beginning to plan for annual book sale, fall art auction, library director update, treasurer's report and anything not anticipated at time of posting.

Wine and Micro Brew Fundraiser at Chandler’s

Chandler's Restaurant and Deerfield Spirit Shoppe present a tasting of wine and micro beers to benefit Tilton Library.  Ticket includes wine, beer and hors d'oeuvres.  $25 per person at the door or $20 in advance at Tilton Library and Deerfield Spirit Shoppes.  For more information, call the library.  All proceeds benefit the library.

Upcycled Bird Mobile Workshop with Candace Bradbury-Carlin

When birds fly they seem to be made of the very air they soar through. In this workshop WE WILL USE DISCARDED PLASTIC MILK JUGS to make three dimensional birds as part of a mobile.  The translucent material of the milk jug highlights the airiness of birds in flight. These mobiles are easy and fun to make.  When done, these fluttering sculptures can hang at a window, over a table, or outdoors.
