The Board of Trustees are an elected town body which is entrusted with overseeing, maintaining and planning the future for the most democratic of all our public institutions, the public library. Library Board members are responsible for working with other board members to oversee the library, establishing policy and plans, determining the final budget and conducting public relations. The powers and duties of trustees are covered in Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 78, section 10-13. Meeting agenda is posted at Deerfield Town Hall at least 48 hours in advance of the meeting
Do you want to be a better English speaker? This free program is for all people who wish to practice speaking English in a relaxed setting.
Join our Destination Imagination Team for people 11-13 years old led by Julie Cavacco and Bette Schmitt. Read books set in each of the continents and keep a log as you go. Selected books are available at the library on the Destination Imagination cart. This program runs through June and meetings are optional. Come when you are able!
This is a storm related closing. If you wish to sign up for the antiques appraisal event you may do so on Monday from 1-8; Tuesday from 1-5 or Wednesday from 10-5.
Friends of Tilton Library, Inc. is a separate 501(c)(3) membership organization and is open to anyone who wants to join. The Friends mission is to encourage and promote the enrichment and use of the library and to foster support for the library in the community. For people who want to show their support and appreciation of Tilton Library, being a Friend is the first step. Annual dues continue to be $15 per year and if necessary, you can contribute your time in lieu of dues. Come check us out at our monthly meetings at the library.

A special evening of antiques appraisals with Douglas Bilodeau of Douglas Auctioneers will be held at Tilton Library in South Deerfield Wednesday January 11 from 5-8 pm. Community members are invited to bring up to two items for appraisal. There is no charge for the event, but donations are welcome. Participants must pre-register for a time slot in the library. Snow date is January 18. The antiques appraisal evening is being offered as part of Tilton Library’s 100 th anniversary celebration.
