The Grumpytime Club Band is a red and gold family music party band including kid musicians and costumed dancers. Playing original music from Carrie Ferguson’s award-winning 2021 album, The Grumpytime Club, they spent 2022 rocking fairs and festivals with their high-energy funky folk-pop. Featuring a shifting pallet of horn, violin, guitar, keys, bass and drums, their music is highly danceable and truly fun for all ages, highlighting themes of inclusivity, social justice, Earth stewardship and LGBTQ youth/family pride. INDIGO VAT & SHIBORI DYING A FREE ART CLASS WITH GAIL CALLAHAN: SAT 9/16 10-12 (RAIN DATE 9/23) Outside at Tilton Library, Deerfield LIMITED TO 8 PEOPLE, PLEASE SIGN UP (stop by library or call 413-665-4683) Participants will help make the indigo dye vat which comes out a stunning bright blue, and use the Japanese method of Shibori dying using the 3 items brought to class, for fantastic results! PLEASE BRING 3 FRESHLY WASHED COTTON OR LINEN ITEMS (NAPKIN, T-SHIRT, TEA TOWEL) & GLOVES This program funded by the Deerfield Cultural Council
Knit & Crafts Circle is hosted by Sheep & Shawl (Liz Sorenson) at Tilton Library, South Deerfield. No registration required. Come one, come all! This is a social knit & crafts circle in the library’s backyard in the breezy shade of two big trees. A bathroom is available. You must bring your own chair, snacks, water, sunhat, sunglasses, crafts of your choosing – knitting, crochet, spinning, rug-hooking, mending, any portable craft …. If you need a table to work on (instead of your lap) there are several picnic tables. You may want to bring a plastic bag or tablecloth to keep your items clean on the table. The Friends of Tilton Library will be COLLECTING gently used RECENT books & purses on September 23 & 30, 10am-12pm at the Tilton Library in Deerfield We are looking for RECENT fiction, kids books, young adult books, and biographies. All books & purses must be in good condition and all potential donations will be reviewed by Friends members at the time of donation—only select items will be accepted. Books may only be donated during these collection days. The Book Sale will be on Saturday October 7, 9-12.
Want to learn basic sewing skills but don’t know where to start? Join us for an evening full of snacks and supportive, trained staff from Swanson’s Fabrics! We will be making bags out of fabric that you can fill with anything your heart desires! Supplies & pizza dinner included. All experience levels welcome, open to students 6th through 12th grade.
