The teen room strives to be a safe and collaborative space for readers, learners, gamers, crafters, and all others in grades 6-12.

Check out the design for the NEW Teen Room coming in 2026, as part of Tilton Library’s major building expansion. Plenty of room to claim your space!

The Trevor Project shares information for LGBTQ youth and allies, including 24/7 crisis counseling and a suicide hotline.

Planned Parenthood shares sexual healthcare resources for adults as well as teens with questions.

413Cares has local resources for mental health, food pantries and meal programs, housing assistance, and more.

Bill Vicars at www.lifeprint.com is a Deaf ASL teacher who provides comprehensive classes, dictionaries, and info on Deaf culture completely for free. Videos can also be found on his YouTube.

Some disability resources include the US Pain Foundation for chronic pain management; AANE for autism and neurodiversity info; MDSC for folks with Down syndrome; and ABLE NRC for info on opening an ABLE savings account that can be used for disabled folks’ quality of life.

Deerfield residents with a Tilton Library card can access Rocket Languages for spoken language learning;

And all Massachusetts residents/workers/students can receive a Boston Public Library e-card and access Mango Languages for free.

Local events: BrattRock is a twice-yearly youth rock festival in Brattleboro, VT; The Brick House in Turners Falls has a teen center open Mon-Thurs with events; Looky Here is a one-stop-thrift-shop in Greenfield for art supplies and art workshops; Swanson’s Fabrics in Turners Falls is your go-to for fabric supplies and workshops.
