Presented by Amherst College Students behind the Tilton Library. Explore fossils and gems from the Rock, Fossil and Dinosaur Shop. Scientists examine rocks to learn about life in the distant past. Some rocks tell us a bit about what critters may have looked liked, while other rocks give us a sense of what the critters used to do. Some of the first people to notice these special rocks once lived and worked in Deerfield many years ago. One of the earliest discoveries was made by a local teenager.
Behind the Tilton Library (will move indoors in the event of rain) This free program is open to all ages Bring your imagination & wear painting clothes We will supply the rocks and acrylic paint materials At the end of the program you can take your rocks home or leave them at the library to be sealed and placed in front of the library.
