Certified Casting Instructor Jim Dowd will take you through the mechanics and physics of fly casting. We cover the basic pick up and lay down cast, false casting, and the roll cast.

Knit & Crafts Circle is hosted by Sheep & Shawl (Liz Sorenson) at Tilton Library, South Deerfield. No registration required. Come one, come all! This is a social knit & crafts circle in the library’s backyard in the breezy shade of two big trees. A bathroom is available. You must bring your own chair, snacks, water, sunhat, sunglasses, crafts of your choosing – knitting, crochet, spinning, rug-hooking, mending, any portable craft …. If you need a table to work on (instead of your lap) there are several picnic tables. You may want to bring a plastic bag or tablecloth to keep your items clean on the table. We will move into the children's room in the event of rain. Funded, in part, by a grant from the Deerfield Cultural Council, a local agency supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council and by the Friends of Tilton Library.
