Art Exhibit – The Colors Around Us – photographs by James H. Burrill
Artist’s Statement If you stop and take the time to look around, you will see some amazingly beautiful things. Every once in the while, I am lucky enough to both have my camera with me and capture the image. Sometimes, mostly with flowers, I try to make the beauty shout out by eliminating extraneous background. While I have always had an interest in photography, the images in this exhibit range from 1978 when I bought my first serious camera to the present day where the magic of the digital world allows me to present just the part of the image that I want. -James H. Art at Tilton – Connecticut River Series photographs by Carl Nardiello
The photo works are from the Connecticut River Series, which have been featured in two exhibition of this series in 2014 in the Pioneer Valley. In addition, there are three prints from a new series of works now in progress, with the working title: "Naked Landscapes". The work in both these series is part of a larger body of work taken in the late fall, winter and early springs, when the foliage is mostly gone. The colors, forms and interaction of light, water and trees, reveal their essential beauty in unique and subtle ways. Carl Nardiello is a professional photographer from New York, now living in Northampton. Archival pigmented inkjet prints, 17x22" image size, and mounted in a 20x24" frame with glass. All materials used in mounting are to archival standards.

Friends of Tilton Library Meeting
Friends of Tilton Library, Inc. is a separate 501(c)(3) membership organization and is open to anyone who wants to join. The Friends mission is to encourage and promote the enrichment and use of the library and to foster support for the library in the community. For people who want to show their support and appreciation of Tilton Library, being a Friend is the first step. Annual dues continue to be $15 per year and if necessary, you can contribute your time in lieu of dues. Come check us out at our monthly meetings at the library.
Monday Night Music – John Blunt
John Blunt has been bringing his hybrid style of folk music to the Valley since 2008. Don’t miss this unique and talented young performer. Fun for all ages! Performances are held on the lawn of Tilton Library (or inside the Children’s Room in case of bad weather.) Bring a chair and a friend. This free event is sponsored by Friends of Tilton Library.

English Conversation Circle
Do you want to practice your English? Come to a conversation group at Tilton Library on Thursdays at 6:30. Facilitated by Michael Pollitt and organized by the Center for New Americans this drop-in program is free and open to all. Please note new day for summer! Because of summer library programming we will meet either outside at the picnic table (weather permitting), inside in the children's room or upstairs near the book shelves by the fireplace. Baby Time
Every Friday at 10 am. No sign ups needed. Our picture book area will be reserved for the littlest of our patrons to roll around (or practice standing) and meet eye to eye with their peers. All babies and their caregivers welcome. Free coffee for grownups (while it lasts).
