The Town of Deerfield is renovating some of the space in the former congregational church in at 71 North Main Street in South Deerfield which will serve as the library’s temporary location. We will move there on APRIL 15, as construction on the library expansion project starts in mid-late April 2024.
We will close on April 6 to pack, clean, and move, then stay closed at the temporary location for about 2 1/2 weeks to get everything up and running – for a total of 3 1/2 weeks. Our reopen date is scheduled for May 1.
We have clear instructions on what can be done while we are closed, which you can read HERE. Luckily we live in a community full of wonderful libraries to help our patrons while we are closed.
Once we reopen, in the temporary space, we will be able to provide most of what our patrons are used to: a portion of our collection and programs for all ages, as well as delivery of holds from other libraries. Construction on the library building is scheduled to last for about a year.
Stay tuned for more details as we get closer to moving…coming up soon!
