Participants are welcome to submit a piece of their work for an anthology This workshop is taught by Julie Cavacco. Julie discovered the new form called Duplex this past summer. Jericho Brown developed the form and wrote, “I write in forms because formal work helps to push me toward saying what I couldn’t imagine I would say in a poem.” Duplex is meant to be thoughtful and bluesy. When you begin it the form brings you to an end that you couldn’t have planned. Ages 9-adult OTHER WORKSHOPS AND EVENTS IN THIS SERIES (SEE OUR EVENTS SECTION): Louise Mahoney will lead four workshops where participants will be given handmade books to record their work There will also be two poetry readings for the workshop participants and the general public – no need to sign up. Be Here Now: A (FREE!) Mindfulness Class for Teens (w/FREE SNACKS!) Interested in slowing down the brain chatter? Is it hard to manage the stress of school? Trouble sleeping? Feeling anxious and stressed? Just show up! Be Here Now is a 4-week mindfulness series offered free of charge to teenagers (13-19) at the Tilton Library. This course is open to any teenager who is willing to give it a try. While we encourage you to attend all four weeks, it is not a requirement. Come as often as you can and see if these strategies help you feel better throughout your life. Course will include sitting meditations, walking meditations, exercises, and information about mindfulness and its applications. Part of the Mindfulness in Libraries Series
